Kapwing supports creating PNG files from a variety of image sources, and can also be used to make an image background completely transparent. Kapwing can be used to erase backgrounds from non-png file formats, or simply edit and manipulate current PNGs. A raw image format contains the unprocessed data captured by a digital camera or scanner’s sensor. Typically, images are processed (adjusted for color, white balance, exposure, etc.) and then converted and compressed into another format (e.g. JPEG or TIFF).
- Tutte.png, an image of the Tutte graph, converted from a GRF file to an EPS file by GRF_TO_EPS, converted to a PNG file by ImageMagick Convert.
- This is pretty useful, as request and response bodies are one use only.
- Many websites offer APIs, which will return data in JSON format.
- In most cases, it’s a good idea to export the file to PNG, and also save a PSD file to make sure that we can access our project in the future.

Our Digital Design Library is regularly updated with exclusive designs and patterns for each season, so check back often for new inspiration. SVG files use uncompressed, human-readable text to describe an image so that it can be recreated with a render engine, such as the one included in your browser. One is vector, the other is raster, and never the twain shall meet!
If you don’t want to lose those details, save the illustration as an .ai file before proceeding. Remember, despite the fact that Illustrator lets you author vector graphics, you are often designing for screens which are made of pixels.
